horse physio

If you've ever watched your horse come back from an injury (and most of us have), or seen your old dog struggle to get up in the morning, you'll know that recovery is about so much more than just rest. It takes patience, the right hands, and people who genuinely care how your animal is feeling. That's exactly what you'll find at Perfect Balance Animal Clinic, the newest veterinary physiotherapy clinic on Al Raha Boulevard in Abu Dhabi.

The team treats both horses and small pets, helping with everything from post-surgery rehab and sports injuries to chronic pain and the aches that come with getting older. But what really stood out to us wasn't the list of treatments they offer, it was the people behind the vision and their dedication to the wellbeing of our pets. So we wanted you to meet the dream team behind Perfect Balance Animal Clinic.

Harriet Wiltshire, Lead Physiotherapist

If you know Harriet, you know what a kind, caring and empathetic human she is! Harriet grew up in the British countryside surrounded by horses, cats and dogs, and spent two years after school working on farms in Australia, where she first discovered veterinary physio.

Nearly seven years later she leads the team at Perfect Balance Animal Clinic, and she has treated everything from rabbits to donkeys, and three legged dogs. She never treats two animals the same way, and their comfort always comes first.

Lucy Davies, Veterinary Physiotherapist

Lucy grew up on a farm in West Wales and competed for her country as a teenager, so she understands injury and recovery first hand. She trained in human physio before moving into veterinary physio, and she evented in the UK with her horse Jack. She notices the small changes in how a horse moves or behaves, and always works at the animal's pace. Warm, easy to talk to and great fun, she's been a brilliant addition to the UAE.

Dr. Abdullah Al Nakdali, Veterinarian and Acting Operations Manager

Abdullah is a small animal vet who began his career in Syria before bringing his skills to the UAE. He keeps the clinic running smoothly and will soon be offering veterinary consultations too. For him, good care means a calm space where every animal is treated with kindness, patience and respect.

Physio for horses

The team starts by getting to know your horse, how it moves and what it needs, then builds a plan around it. That might mean laser therapy to ease pain and support healing, MagnaWave sessions to help with stiffness and recovery, or hands-on work like massage and stretching to release tension and keep things supple. Where it helps, they also use needling to target tight, sore muscles. The aim is always the same: a comfortable, happy horse that moves freely and stays sound (which means treatment is basically free since you won't be paying for as many mystery lameness exams).

Why we think you'll love them

First, they are just super nice people. We know there are plenty of skilled professionals out there, but it's rare to find a team where the animals so clearly come before everything else. Harriet, Lucy and Abdullah are kind, caring, properly qualified, and a lot of darn fun to be around. Your horse or pet will be in very good hands, and you'll get a good conversation out of the treatment as well.

If your animal is recovering from surgery, carrying an old injury, slowing down with age, or you'd just like to keep them moving at their best, it's definitely worth getting in touch.
